Born at Aylesbury Buckinghamshire, Oxford, the son of George Castle and his wife Francis.The family lived in Thame Oxfordshire. At seventeen with his family's consent, with ten pounds from his farther he moved to London.Began to make construction based cubist works at the age of eighteen,but attended no art school.

collecter to donate to the National Collection Millbank;March 2007

Exhibited cubist sculptuor at the National Trust Gallery in West Wycombe,without success;
also exhibited "The Ambassadors" a construction painting (collage) at "The Annexe" Southhampton Row,
London;A London Institute group exhibition sold small oil studys mainly to friends and friends of friends and just about covered his expenses. Began to paint mainly on canvas shortly afterwards.
